In addition to being a performing and teaching artist, Derrick spent 6 years as the creative director or Faith City Central (formally Spirit of Faith Christian Center) and Faith City Music producing countless music and theatre productions. He is currently the creative Pastor of Lift City Church, a teacher and director for Christian Youth Theatre, and will be soon be becoming the Chair of theatre department for Ascension Episcopal Schools.

As I matured into adulthood, I set out on a journey to heal and repair myself. Once on this journey, I began to not only learn to love myself, but I began to accept myself. Learning to love and accept myself, helped me to discover the importance of self-care. This journey of self-growth helped me to recover from my depression and opened my eyes to the importance of mental health. Over the past 10 years of working in the mental health field, I have developed a passion for helping and inspiring others. My passion has lead me to work with many different people from all walks of life.
